Welcome to the 2nd Oman Gastroenterology Society Conference 2026 taking place on 6th -7th February 2026 in Muscat, Oman.

Building on this foundation, the OGSC 2026 scientific program has been developed to support both the advancement of knowledge and its translation into daily practice. Working in collaboration with the World Gastroenterology Organization (WGO), the agenda reflects perspectives from international and regional experts, ensuring that discussions are informed by global developments while remaining grounded in the realities of clinical care within our region.

Participants will have the opportunity to engage in keynote presentations, thematic symposia, case-based reviews, and panel discussions that encourage thoughtful dialogue and multidisciplinary perspective. A key focus of the program is to foster the exchange of clinical experience, research insights, and practical strategies that can meaningfully contribute to improving patient outcomes. Dr Deepak Joshi is a transplant hepatologist with an interest in autoimmune liver disease. He is the clinical lead for HPB medicine and an advanced HPB endoscopist, specialising in paediatrics. He leads the King’s cholestasis service. He is an associate professor in hepatology at King’s College London. He is a co-author of the book, Hepatology at a Glance. His current research interests include the management of biliary disease pre- and post - liver transplantation including the role of HPB endoscopy. He is the current secretary of the (BASL) British Association for the Study of Liver.

Guidelines for submitting an abstract :

A special criterion for accepting abstracts will be their topic as well as structure, content and degree of innovation. The scientific committee will accept abstracts based on their relevance and quality, structure, content and degree of innovation.

  • Please note that a maximum of 300 words is permitted. The titles and the names of the authors are excluded from this number and have to be entered separately. Tables should not be included in the abstract body.
  • Methods section should include type of statistical analysis done if applicable to the study.
  • Statements like “Results will be discussed” are not acceptable and may lead to a rejection of the abstract.
